Why Art Therapy
Art therapy is a combination of art making and talk therapy, where you can explore personal experiences, themes and challenges through creative expression. Art therapy acts as a tool to navigate things that may be hard to express with words. You do not need to be an artist or art maker to participate in art therapy!
Who is A?
A Beaumont (they/them) is a white settler, queer, trans, disabled, neurodivergent and fat artist, community organizer and Art Therapy Intern (DTATI Candidate). A is passionate about accessibility, community care, mutual aid and resistance. They work from a trauma-informed and disability justice framework with a focus on personal and collective joy, resistance and healing. With over 8 years of experience in art and organizing spaces, they are so excited to continue working with Open Your Art!
Policies:
Cancellation: If you're unable to attend the session, please let us know via email at least one hour beforehand.
If you're interested in joining this group please reach out to openyourart.therapy@gmail.com, or register here (link).
